Yesterday my TV went black screen on my Bell PVR 9242, resetting did not help, changing cables either, the HDMI port was not working.
same cable worked OK on other devices, so I switched to component video to watch survivor season finale.
this morning turned on the TV and PVR and voilá.. the HDMI works fina again.
I suspected a firmware update caused the problem however no signs of massive HDMI errors in the canadian TV forums.
who knows what really happened..
